Run, support Naturepark UK!

NPUK Finances:

We are well aware that funding for such a project is a major issue. With the idea alone Naturepark UK is nothing but “pie in the sky”. Yet we are convinced that there is a progression of credibility based on available funds.

If you have an idea like this and you have no money you are a dreamer. If you have the idea and £10,000 you are a dreamer with £10,000, if you have £100,000 you are an eccentric but if you have £1 million people will take you seriously, with £1 million you are a business entity.

The timing for initiating this project also seems favourable since based on the current economic downturn money is tight. If Naturepark UK manages to establish itself now then by the time the economy recovers Naturepark UK is established and credible, hence ready to approach potential large scale sponsors and to exploit carbon trading schemes and the like. In addition 2011 is the International Year of Forests as declared by the United Nations and Naturepark UK is a partner to the initiative.

Use of Funds:

The main use of funds has to be the acquisition of land. Landownership allows control over a finite resource. To raise 1.5 million pounds for the Agroforestry Biodiversity Viability Study stand at the centre of all fundraising activities.

Fundraising:

Several ways of raising funds will be applied. Examples of fundraising activities include the following:

PayPal donations from enthusiasts using the buttons:

The purchase links to on this website; for every purchase via the links on this site Amazon pays Naturepark UK a percentage of the purchase value as a broker's fee. Please make this website your Amazon short cut!

By advertising the project with business cards, other means of advertising, e.g. car window and flyers as well as a promotional stand operating across Cumbria via the promotional Naturepark UK Caravan featuring "Meg and Jens", promoting the project and inviting people to support the vision.

Support via cheque, posted to Naturepark UK Limited (Siegen, 17 The Paddocks, Thursby, Cumbria, CA5 6PB) including a covering note for donors of £100 and above whether they want to be listed on this website, is also appreciated.

Direct payments into the Naturepark UK bank account (Cumberland Building Society, Carlisle, Sort code: 16-52-21, Number: 52989696) are also possible and welcome.

A VISA connection at a cost of £40 per month was deemed too wasteful.

The business plan for the Agroforestry Biodiversity Viability Study is also nearing completion and will be submitted to the European Commission, DEFRA and potential voluntary C02 off setters for approval and funding.

Sponsors donating £100 or more have the opportunity to be named under the heading “NPUK Sponsors” including an up to 50 word commentary if they so wish. Please let us know by email or snail mail.

In the event of project failure we promise that all funds and assets, as appropriate, will be surrendered to a British conservation charity or project that follows a similar goal as Naturepark UK. Alternatively the World Wildlife Fund  could be the beneficiary.

If you feel that this project is worth supporting then please tell all your friends and family about it. Forward the Naturepark UK website details to them and ask them to make this site their Amazon purchase home page in order to give their support.
